Description
E-Governance is the public sector’s use of information and communication technologies with the aim of improving information and service delivery, encouraging citizen participation in the decision-making process and making government more accountable, transparent and effective. The Knowledge Base of Innovative E-government Practices requires Innovative e-government solutions, services and applications. The Knowledge Base does not promote one solution over another, but rather highlights e-government practices that place the citizen in the forefront. To bring transparency, dynamism in the administrative process and also to improve the efficiency, Bangladesh government has already launched several e government solutions. This would be one of the most effective tool to monitoring the progress of Bangladesh as whole of the Government approach.
For evaluation and monitoring the performance and activities of govt. offices and officer's, each level of offices from Union to ministry prepare and submit reports to present their progress to the higher authority. At each level of administrative hierarchy the reports are collected, consolidated, and finally consolidated at ministry/division level for further proceedings. To increase the efficiency of this regular process in terms of time, money and to reduce the complexity, this report generation tool named RMS (Report Management System) has been designed and developed in 2000 which is an innovative and digital platform to manage all those manual activities. RMS has a robust report engine through this users can prepare report templates as user’s requirements, circulate to any office to collect data through a proper validation chain. This system also designed with a single sign on (SSO) login process, as a result government officials aren’t worried about remembering user credentials. RMS mobile app (Android & IOS) has also been developed to improve monitoring and currently available in play store.
